ALMSGIVING TO SINHARAJA CAVE MONASTERY

Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, when donations to the Sinharaja Cave Monastery had ceased, the Lions Club of Colombo LEADS took a stand. On December 13th, 2020, under the theme of “Hunger,” Lion Kasun Kodippilly and his dedicated partner Lion Sadee Jayawardene, as project chairpersons, spearheaded an almsgiving event to provide essential support to the resident monks.

Recognizing the monastery’s struggle during these challenging times, Lion Kasun and Lion Sadee, along with club members, rallied to ensure the monks received vital sustenance. This act of kindness not only addressed immediate hunger but also showcased our club’s unwavering commitment to community service.

We extend our gratitude to Lion Kasun Kodippilly, Lion Sadee Jayawardene, and all who contributed to this initiative, and to the Sinharaja Cave Monastery for allowing us to support them during these difficult times. As we navigate the pandemic together, our dedication to serving those in need remains steadfast.
