The Lions Club of Colombo LEADS is deeply grateful to renowned musical duo Bathiya & Santhush for joining us at our charity fundraising event, “Lions’ Hope,” held on 10 November 2023 at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Galadari.

Their performance brought tremendous energy and excitement to the evening. The audience warmly welcomed Bathiya & Santhush, and their music quickly created a lively atmosphere throughout the ballroom. Guests enthusiastically joined in and thoroughly enjoyed their performance, making their appearance one of the memorable highlights of Lions’ Hope.

A JOURNEY THAT CHANGED SRI LANKAN MUSIC

Bathiya Jayakody and Santhush Weeraman, popularly known as Bathiya & Santhush (BNS), have been among the most influential musical acts in Sri Lanka since the late 1990s. Their musical journey began with a desire to create a fresh sound that could connect with a new generation of Sri Lankan music lovers.

The duo became widely recognized for combining Sinhala musical influences with contemporary pop, hip-hop and other international sounds. Their approach helped introduce a new style to the Sri Lankan music scene and brought together audiences across different generations and language backgrounds.

Over the years, Bathiya & Santhush have performed extensively in Sri Lanka and overseas and have achieved numerous milestones in their musical career. Their work has included collaborations with internationally recognized artists, major concert tours, film and television projects, and performances at significant international events. They also represented Sri Lanka on major stages including the IIFA Awards and the ICC Cricket World Cup opening ceremony.
