NEW MEMBERS ORIENTATION PROGRAM

The Lions Club of Colombo LEADS successfully conducted its Third New Members Orientation Program on 20 July 2020 at Sanora Banquet Hall, Thalawathugoda. The programme was organised to provide new members with a better understanding of Lions Clubs International, its values, objectives, and commitment to community service.

The programme was attended physically by the majority of the new members, while others participated virtually through Zoom. This hybrid arrangement enabled members to benefit from the orientation programme regardless of their mode of participation.

The session featured informative and inspiring presentations by PCC Vijitha Manamperi PMJF MAF, PDG Dharma Dheerasinghe MJF MAF, and PDG Mahinda Perera MJF MAF. Their valuable insights and guidance provided the participants with a deeper understanding of the organisation and the responsibilities of being a Lion.

The orientation programme focused on strengthening the knowledge of new members about Lions Clubs International, its mission, leadership, membership responsibilities, and the importance of active participation in club activities and humanitarian service. The presentations also encouraged members to embrace the spirit of fellowship, leadership, and service to the community.

Special appreciation is extended to PCC Vijitha Manamperi PMJF MAF, PDG Dharma Dheerasinghe MJF MAF, and PDG Mahinda Perera MJF MAF for their tremendous support and for delivering highly informative and impressive speeches. Their contribution played an important role in making the orientation programme a meaningful and successful learning experience.

The successful completion of this third orientation programme reflects the Lions Club of Colombo LEADS’ commitment to welcoming, educating, and empowering new members to contribute effectively to the club’s activities and its mission of serving the community.
